If you're interested in saving money and helping out the Earth, you should try to take advantage of this opportunity. While taking the next step is great, you'll likely be unable to install the system yourself. You'll need to make sure you hire the right contractor to get the project done properly.

In order to find a good, reliable contractor, you'll need to do the proper research. Try to find out what the basic license and insurance requirements are for contractors in your state. Take the time to learn about what kind of model your existing heating system is and its past maintenance history. If you have rooms in the house that you feel are not being heated properly, take note, as you'll need to relay your needs to the contractor for the new system. You may want to ask for a referral from a friend or neighbor. A local contract trade organization will also have names of local members who are licensed and have a good reputation.

You want to know that the contractor has a good track record of getting the job done on time and within budget. When working with the contract, ask if they're aware of current heating system rebates for energy-efficient equipment. A good contractor should be aware of products that meet government energy efficiency guidelines, saving you a lot of money.

After picking out some system options, you'll need the contractor to inspect your current system and evaluate your future heating needs. The contractor could take the time to look at your ducts for any air leaks and see that the house is properly insulated. They'll know exactly what system will work best with your house design. Once you have a project agreed upon, make sure you get a written estimated from the contractor. Demand that everything is itemized. If you're getting bids from multiple contractors, this is your best chance to get the best deal. Make sure you get the agreement in ink. This will legally protect you from rising project costs and guarantee you the materials that you agreed upon.

If you think it's time to take advantage of heating system rebates with a new system, it's certainly time to look for a contractor that is qualified to complete the project. You'll want to save money on the project, but don't forget, it's acceptable pay a little extra for the eating system if it is guaranteed to save you money in the future by being energy-efficient. Investing in your house's future is essential.

A Homeowner's Guide to Heater Repair

It can be frustrating to learn that you need to handle a heater repair. It is a pain to realize that the house is starting to get chilly and the equipment in place is not functioning properly. You have the option to get in there and see if there is anything that you can do to get things going once again however, remember that a professional is just a phone call away.

Getting Started

Before doing any type of heater repair, make sure that the power to the system is turned off. Things can go from bad to worse if you are working on the equipment and something goes wrong with the power. Aside from cooler house temperatures, you could be looking at a visit to the local emergency room. You don't want the motor to accidentally start while you are in the system looking for a solution. Remember that once you stop the power, there is a good chance that the pilot light is going to go out in the furnace. If you don't know how to relight it, it is time to call a professional before you do anything else.

Common Fixes

One of the first things you can is check the filter. Many people skip over this step and assume that their heater repair needs to be something major. If you are looking to avoid the problems that you are having, in the future, remember to change out that filter at regular intervals to ensure that nothing is backing up in the system. Many professionals recommend that homeowners with a forced air system change the filter at least once a month.

Sometimes the key to heater repair is adding a little oil to make sure that all of the parts are well lubricated. While this seems simple, if you don't know which parts need oil, it is time to call in a pro and let him or her handle the situation. There is no need to start greasing up anything and everything in the equipment on the hopes that things end up working out.

Check to make sure that there is nothing in the way of the outside vents, including chimneys. Items like leaves and nests created by birds or rodents can be a real problem. Even snow can make it seem like something is wrong with the system. Check out these areas before going any further.

If you have given the system a once over and you are not sure what to do next, don't attempt a complicated heater repair on your own. Contact a local technician and have a professional come out to the house to take a look. You can save yourself some time and the potential for costly damage when you let someone handle the system for you.

Simple and Massive Reconstruction for Water Damage

So, along with all of the other items on your to do list, you're facing water damage. With little to no time to take care of your normal routine -- let alone the mysterious leak that is slowly rotting away your ceiling, walls and/or flooring -- what do you do?

An insurance policy that covers the damage is the best case scenario for such an event because then all you have to do is file your claim, present evidence, have a professional inspection performed, receive an estimate for the amount of demolition and reconstruction that will be required, and make sure all of the permits and contracts are in place. The permits and contracts are important, because then you at least have it in writing that the work on your house is being completed safely and carefully. You may also want to make sure the contractors are only using materials that are renewable and reasonably biodegradable (if they need to be disposed of). Then all you have to do is be patient while the contractors work through the renovations. Then, sit back and enjoy the work. Kiss the prospect of any water damage in that area for quite some time goodbye.

Yes, homes can stand up fairly well to the elements for twenty or twenty-five years, at most, before significant remodels and renovations are needed to improve flooring, windows, plumbing, electrical wiring, insulation, or even quite possibly some of the supporting structures. Before water damage can even occur, it is wise to have a plan in place for the various stages of home renovating and remodeling. This will prevent damage to your home from spreading too far because you can track it down or begin to fix it.

If you are facing heavy leaks or flooding with rain coming through the ceiling, walls, window, or doors your first step is simply to stop the leak and catch the runoff. If the bathtub is overflowing, a pipe bursts, or the washing machine goes off the rails, the best idea, quite obviously, is to try to turn off the water supply first. Second, immediately moving to absorb moisture with towels or a wet vacuum will be extremely useful in trying to preserve your flooring or nearby furnishings.

If you are facing water damage after some time away from home, such as at the end of a long day or even after a trip, quick action is still important but it will be slightly different. The first step is to try to salvage any furniture by placing the damaged items outside in the sun. The second step is to open the home to try to speed up the drying process. A professional company will use water extraction devices and drying tools on carpets. Always, the final outcome is to get to a dry surface to determine the level of damage and then decide as a homeowner what you are willing to do to be rid of the result.

Outdoor Living - 5 Ways To Turn Your Backyard Into A Dining Space

Make your home feel more spacious than ever before by tapping in to that largely forgotten patch of land out the back. With a few simple upgrades, your tired backyard will become a gathering hot spot.

Not sure where to start? Here are five ways to turn your outdoor space into an amazing spot for wining and dining.

Furnishings

Start off by getting your hands on a large outdoor dining table. If you dream of making a Balinese resort oasis, look for strong teak tables and chairs and decorate with vibrant cushions and table runners. Opt for a glass table with a stainless steel structure if you prefer the streamline, futuristic vibe. Whichever style table you go for, make sure it accommodates an umbrella. You'll be thankful when you're entertaining on those hot summer days.

Lighting

After putting in the hard yards to prepare a scrumptious dinner, you'll want to make sure that the guests can actually see their food to admire it. While a few candles might seem romantic and ambient, the truth is that no one likes eating in darkness. The problem is easily rectified though: a few spotlights surrounding your table will make a big difference. It'll also make your table the centrepiece of your backyard.

Bar

If you've got the room, you might like to consider a little drinks station in a corner of your backyard. All that is really required to build one is a bench, a few stools and a stocked mini fridge. Bars are becoming increasingly popular fixtures in backyards and really make your entertaining space something special. It's handy to keep your guests well hydrated if you're throwing a party or a nice place to have lunch with the family on a hot summers day.

Cooking space

Even if you're strapped for space, it's easy to turn your backyard into a cooking area as well. It can be as simple as purchasing a small coal BBQ or as original as installing a wood fire pizza oven. Either way, it's nice to be able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere with your guests while cooking outside, rather than being stuck in the kitchen away from the night's action.

Install a fire pit

Whether it is summer or winter, everyone loves to be in he presence of a roaring, crackling fire. Popular ways of incorporating a safe fire space into outdoor dining areas have included the installation of a fire pit in the ground or a fireplace in a wall surrounding the yard. Best of all, it will allow you to utilize your new space well into the cold winter months. If you think that a real fire is either too dangerous or too high maintenance, there are some great gas fire options available that look very realistic.

Using Hot Tubs Have Their Benefits Also

Hot tubs are often viewed as luxuries that only the affluent can afford and luxuriate in. Many people are reluctant to indulge in a good soak once in a while because of the expenses that are often related to using these things. The cost of the water, the soaps and aromatherapy that are often used in accordance to the bathtub can amount to a lot when it is accumulated. Others do not see the use of wasting a long time filling up the bathtub and soaking in it. The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of benefits that one can get from using them.

Benefits

There are three main benefits that people can get from using hot tubs. These include, but are not limited to, massage, heat, and buoyancy. Massage is something that one gets from indulging in the water jets that are often installed with the newer versions. Many of the recent innovations of these bathroom items include water jets that can deliver a very satisfying massage on the entire body. The pressure that comes from the jets can be adjusted according to the preferences of the person using them. They can especially help individuals who may have been through a long and tiring day. The jets can actually cut down on the cost of going to a masseuse and getting a water massage done. Heat is also another thing that can help to relieve body aches and pains. Hot tubs can give the entire body a good warm soaking which is much needed when feeling achy and sore. The heat can also help individuals get better sleep and feel more relaxed after they have had a good soak in the bathtub. Better sleep without the aid of commercial medications is a big plus for the body. Buoyancy can help individuals get off their feet and relive tired feet, achy legs, and a painful back from the pressure of standing or sitting in one position for some time.

Other benefits that can come from their use come from the soaps and other additives that are used along with the bathtub. Using soaps that have moisturizers can actually improve the skin quality of the individual. Hot tubs have warm water that works well with moisturizing soaps. Aromatherapy oils and soaps can also work together with the warm water to relax a person as well as improve one's state of mind. It acts as a sort of stress reliever for many people because some of the aromatherapy oils and fragrances can relieve headaches and colds. Exposure to warm water can also help to heal some ailments and wounds that may be present on the body.

These are just some of the benefits that come with using hot tubs. An overall feeling of wellness and relaxation is also one of the benefits of using them. The fact that one has this at one's disposal can also help to put one's mind at ease and be more relaxed.

Find New Life For Old Tarps

Tarps are one of the most versatile items to have in your home or garage. The wide variety of sizes and materials makes them useful in many applications from protecting your car or boat from the elements to using them to haul leaves and debris across your yard.

When they're new, these covers can protect almost anything but eventually, they wear out. Like most things, they can be reused and repurposed when they've outlived their original function. Instead of throwing them away here are some creative uses for an old tarp.

Reusing Your Tarps

What you reuse a tarp for depends on the type of material it is made of. Poly materials are great for waterproofing applications whereas canvas is better suited to protecting items that need breathability. With a good pair of scissors and some creativity there is no limit to what you can do with an old tarp!

Protect Smaller Items From The Elements

Just because a tarp is damaged in one area doesn't mean the whole thing is bad. With a little creativity, you can re-fashion the old material for use in the same application. For example, a boat cover may break down and weaken over time on the top, which is where it gets the most direct sunlight, rain, wind and snow. But the sides might still be in perfectly good shape. If so, you can easily cut the damaged parts of the tarp off and cut down the good parts to fit other applications. A boat cover may be cut down to become an engine, seat or battery cover, used to wrap up fishing gear or protect the spare tire on the trailer. Use bungee cords to hold them in place.

Probably one of the most common uses for tarps, old and new, is to cover the backyard woodpile to keep your firewood dry. You can take that a step further by covering up your backyard fire pit if you know you'll be using it soon but rain is in the forecast. When a tarp wears out, check it for sections that are still in good shape, then cut them into a manageable size and use that to create a handy log carrier.

Protect Delicate Areas

Canvas offers protection from wetness but allows air to circulate through. In their prime, canvas tarps are commonly used by painters as drop cloths and to protect outside items from rusting. Once they wear out, tears, rips and holes make it harder for these tarps to remain water-resistant, but they still have plenty of functions. They can be used to protect plantings, flower beds and garden crops from early or late frosts or use them as trunk or truck bed liners if you're going to be hauling muddy or dirty materials or want to protect the interior surface of your vehicle.

Fun For The Kids

You can use your old tarps in practically any situation where you need to protect or cover something, but they can be used for good old-fashioned fun too. Drape the tarp over a cord hung between two trees and make a play tent for your kids. Use it to cover up a sandbox or kiddie pool or create an awning to provide a shaded area to play. Lay it on the floor and let them sit on it during messy activities like playing with modeling clay or finger painting. Clean up will be a breeze!

Next time you're faced with a worn out tarp, take a minute to think about other ways you could use it or pieces of it. You'll be surprised by how many ways an old tarp can be repurposed. In the process, you'll save money by not having to buy new products for these uses and you'll also extend the life of your tarp.

A Hot Water Heater Is Essential for Any Home

It's a bit mind blowing when you think about how many common appliances in your house have to rely on a functional hot water heater in order to perform. If it breaks, you're stuck with freezing cold showers and a dishwasher than cannot sanitize your dishes and silverware properly. Your laundry wouldn't be clean, either. All appliances will break down at some point. While we'd love them to last forever, you'll be faced with the issue of having to buy a new one. Because you're likely not buying this appliance very often, the question becomes: where do you begin when trying to make such a purchase?

If you don't want to wait hours in between using some hot water for your showers or dishwashing, you'll need an appliance that will supply your family with warm showers in the morning. Consider how your heating appliance holds up when you decide to run more than one appliance that requires warm water. Does the last person in the train of people getting ready in the morning end up with a cold shower? If so, you'll likely need to invest in a hot water heater that can hold up to eighty gallons at once. If you have a smaller family (around three people), you can probably get away with an appliance that holds half that. Either way, you don't want to be cheap and settle for only having warm water for a short period of time. A tankless appliance can sometimes be a great fit. It can easily fit in a little basement. The water passes through coils and is warmed up on demand. Whenever you turn on the tap, the water is warmed up right away to fit your needs.

Another aspect of ordering a hot water heater that deserves consideration is how you will power the appliance. There are popular ways to power these types of devices, but often they come at a high price and require routine maintenance. You can try to go the eco-friendly route and pay extra up front to save money on your bills in the future. If you're unsure how you can save money for your family, ask an expert about how you can power your house to save the environment and lower your bill in the long run.

Remember, before you order the hot water heater that will be right for you, you'll need to measure the space that your current appliance takes up in your basement. Make sure to measure the required diameter, height and width so the installation goes smoothly and without a hitch. The last thing you want is to realize that the appliance can't fit until it is too late.

Who Can Benefit From A Property Warranty Plan?

A property warranty is a great investment that covers significant home appliances which include fridges, washing machines, dryers, stoves, ceiling fans and microwave ovens as well as utilities that include plumbing and electrical systems, air conditioning and furnaces. However, you have to consider getting it from a trustworthy and reputable provider. Below are some of those who can benefit from a property warranty plan.

1. Home Purchasers. Home buyers can cut significant costs on unpredictable repairs when they obtain home warranties. This is very beneficial simply because they might have minimal finances left right after buying their new property. This particular plan may likewise spare home buyers from experiencing a significant amount of stress since it gives them a very convenient approach to repair or replace problems that they may encounter in their new house. They just need to contact the warranty provider for help, rather than searching for repair services that would do the job in a strange place.

2. Home Vendors. They can benefit from this particular plan since it can make the property more appealing to probable buyers, thus boosting the likelihood of selling the property very fast. Apart from that, it can also assist in avoiding expensive legal conflicts as a result of an unreported destruction in the house or perhaps on any of its part. And finally, property warranties could be bought within the listing period however, sellers need not to pay for the plan till the property is sold. The property is still insured while in this period but with no additional expense to sellers.

3. Mortgage and Insurance Agents. It is true that even mortgage and insurance agents can greatly benefit from a property warranty. The reason behind this is that a property warranty plan can make the sale very quick through assisting home sellers and buyers avoid last-minute repair transaction. The longer the sale is done, the smaller likelihood of it to be pushed through. This would then result to having a lesser chance of getting a new client and profit from the sale.

4. Property Agents. They can benefit from property warranties since it assist in making the sale fast. This means that they can gain more profit in less time. Moreover, property warranties assure that each and every home that the agent sells is protected against damage. This implies that you care for the buyer as well as the seller, resulting to a positive reputation which is a very important characteristic for success in the real estate industry.

Difference of Fence Contractor From Other Contractors

Not all contractors are alike. Each individual contractor has his own specialty. There are contractors who are capable of handling all sorts of renovations and installations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and yes, even fencing. A fencing contractor is a contractor who specializes in the installation and maintenance of fences and fencing. Their expertise is not simply limited to wooden or aluminum fencing, but can cover virtually any kind that is available today. As with any kind of renovation or addition to your home, it is important to hire the contractor who specializes in the work that needs to be done.

Sure a general contractor is capable of handling a wide assortment of renovation projects, but they usually lack the necessary tools for installing a fence. Fence contractors have tools like augers and post hole diggers which are necessary for digging deep yet narrow holes in the ground for the foundation of the fence. There are several tools that are used especially by fencing installers which regular contractors generally do not carry with them.

When it comes to installing a fence on your property, you usually pay by the linear foot. However, general contractors make their bids based on square footage. Fencing contractors know what it takes to install a fence and how much time must be spent on every section. They are very experienced in working with the fencing materials and therefore are also very efficient.

After all, you would not pay your pet groomer to cut your own hair would you? Sure, they both do similar work, but they also specialize in different types of work. The same can be said about hiring a contractor. If you are adding an addition to your home then you want to hire a general contractor. If you are adding a new bathroom then a plumbing contractor may also be needed. However, if you are having a fence installed, then you need to hire a fence contractor.

In the end, by choosing the right contractor for the job, you will be able to save yourself money. Each contractor specializes in his own unique field of home remodeling and construction. If you are building a new home, then you may have several different types of contractors working on the project. However, when it comes to installing a new fence, you only need to have one type; you only need to call on a fence contractor.

What Are Exterior Wall Coatings?

Exterior wall coatings are decorative treatments formulated for exterior masonry surfaces. They primarily have two main functions. Firstly they provide an attractive finish to the exterior of a building (internal wall coatings also exist). The second main function is to provide low maintenance and long life spans so they are usually very hard wearing and durable. Exterior wall coatings therefore tend to be quite high end systems that use high quality and often expensive ingredients.

Exterior coatings are normally applied much thicker than traditional exterior paint (up to 40 times the thickness depending on the system). This makes them very weather resistant and helps to increase the life span of the coatings. The extra thickness also helps to cover any imperfections or scars that a wall may have where as traditional paint is very thin and any scars are clearly visible underneath the thin paint film.

There are quite a few manufacturers producing a range of different systems with different features such as elastomeric or anti carbonation etc so it is important to specify the right system for the given situation and wall surface. It is therefore vital to discuss this in detail with the installation company or project manager etc.

Exterior wall coating systems tend to have a high resin content which can give attributes such as great elasticity and flexibility and brilliant adhesion qualities. Examples of some resins that can be found in various coating systems would be Pliolite, Alkyd, Polyester and Acrylic.

Manufacturers normally produce their coating products in a range of standard colours but if none of those standard colours are deemed to be suitable a special order can normally be placed and a coating can be produced to any colour (there is often a minimum quantity required for this though).

Exterior wall coatings are also available in a range of textures. These start from smooth (untextured) coatings that will look like normal paint, to fine textures, coarse textures and heavy high build textures. Therefore it is important to see samples before committing to a particular system. The use of a texture can be very advantageous. For example, if you have a rendered wall where the render is solid and well adhered to the underlying surface but it has received many repairs in the past and there is a range of surface appearances or texture differences, crack scars etc, the application of an exterior wall coating system which incorporates a texture can often cover unsightly scars and imperfections and create an attractive and uniform finish.

Manufacturers often describe their coating systems as being "Microporous." This means that although the coating is very good at resisting any water penetration, they also allow the passage of water vapour so are breathable. This makes exterior coating systems very good in instances of penetrating damp.

The Advantages of Remote Garage Door Openers

A home that has a garage means that you have an extra space that can be used to conveniently store all sorts of items. The main use of a garage is to keep one or more cars protected from the elements. Other people like to utilize the garage area for storing items that cannot fit inside the home. For instance, holiday decorations or hobby related tools and accessories can be easily stored away until needed. A feature that many modern garage spaces have is electronic garage doors. These are doors that are specifically designed to be able to move up and down when connected to a remote garage door opener.

There are several good reasons to install an electronic garage door opener.

Convenience of Easy Access

In the past, when pulling up to a garage door that is manually operated a person needed to get out of the car, walk up to the door, bend down and lift up the heavy door using physical strength. This routine happened whether it was sweltering hot or freezing cold outside. The person then had to hop back into the car, park and again pull the door all the way down manually. That could be quite a hassle.

On the other hand, opening garage doors that are remotely operated is a breeze. Depending on the unit, the driver simply pushes a few buttons from either the car or a keypad and the door instantly opens. There is no need to strain your back.

Improved Safety

Manually operated garage entrance doors are susceptible to burglaries from unknown intruders. In essence, anyone can simply lift up the door and enter into the garage. From there, they may even have easy access to the home. This simply isn't very secure. That is why installing a remote garage door opener can really make your home much safer. The features of most units make it possible to activate special security codes that prevent unauthorized entry. These security features operate even when the homeowner is away on vacation. This provides a lot of peace of mind when it comes to home protection.

Another way these units boost security is during emergencies. Sometimes children or pets find themselves in dangerous situations by getting stuck underneath a heavy garage door. A remote operated door only requires the quick push of a button to free anyone trapped.

Quiet Operation

Many people leave for work early in the morning and there could be others that are still asleep. Some electronic garage door openers are so quiet that they do not disturb anyone else in the home. Getting a DC powered unit is the best choice for the quietest door operation.

Easy Operation

There are a wide variety of choices when it comes to remote garage door openers. There are a variety of remote control designs that suit any home environment. Many are programmable and the homeowner can enter special security codes that can be changed just as easily. One remote door opener can control multiple doors if needed.

Choosing Composite Deck Railings Over Wood

If you have always used wood for your decks, you might be intimidated or turned off by the composite deck railings and other materials that are out there today. You might think that anything other than wood is cheap. This material is not cheap. If you shop for it, you will find this to be the case. It is more expensive because of its durability and maintenance-free traits. If you are just in the market, you could look into this product, and you should not have to put out too much money. While you are looking at getting a railing, though, it might also be time for an overall update.

If you decide to look into both composite deck railings as well as the other materials available, then you should know what to look for. There is likely more than just one company out there that makes these products, so it may be easy to run into some that do not have the quality that others claim to have. They still might be costly, though. As you look for the right product, you will want to look at the warranty, the materials used for producing it, the price, and the reputation.

The warranty on the higher quality types of composite deck railings and other products of the same material tends to be around twenty-five years. This is likely a limited warranty that will leave room for normal wear and tear as well as a certain degree of fading. You should expect that you will not experience cracks, splinters, warping, and extreme fading.

You should also look into what materials are used to make the product that you are considering. The high quality types use a wood that is ground down mixed with a special polymer. The combination is a UV-resistant, durable product.

The price is another consideration. Although a good quality product made with these composites will be costly, even the high quality companies will offer a great product that is lower in cost that may work into your budget. Do not give up when you see initial numbers. Take the time to look into all of the products that a company offers.

The reputation is another consideration. You can find out the reputation of particular products by looking at reviews. Although all reviews are not legitimate, there are websites that may guarantee having only those that are legitimate.

After covering all of these areas, you should know enough to choose between a traditional wood variety or composite deck railings and materials. Whichever decision you make, at least it will be an informed one.

Checking Out Different Types of Stucco Exteriors

If you are getting ready to build, stucco exteriors may be an appealing option. Whether you like the way it looks or you appreciate its durability, it is worth checking into. It is important to understand how this can be used to create the outside texture of a building and what options are available to you. Despite how it may appear, all buildings covered with this product are not the same.

Systems

There are several ways to create stucco exteriors. If you are looking for speed, go with the one coat method. Here, only a base coat and a finish coat are attached to the building. This can be done quickly and is still, in a lot of ways, durable and reliable. A second option involves adding additional base coats, as well as a finish coat. Want three coats? You need the hard coat option. Finally, to get the most durability, consider using the EIFS method. Two coats of the product are attached to a foam insulation board. As long as the water drainage system is set up correctly, this system is one of the most successful.

Finishes

Contractors offer different types of finishes for their stucco exteriors. With the scraped finish, a tool is used to actually smooth down the product on the building. It will not look uniform in all places and it will still have a flow to the look. Also popular is the dash finish. In this case, there are peaks of the product that are sticking out all over the outside. These peaks are small and tend to look fairly similar all over the surface. Sand finish looks much like it sounds. It gives the appearance of grains of sand over the entire stucco exteriors. Finally, lace finishes are the most visually appealing and are a popular option.

Painting

Stucco exteriors tend to have unlimited possibilities when it comes to paint and colors. The material itself can be colored or a person can choose to paint the outside of the home once the product is on the outside. Because the chance of cracking is possible, it is important to choose the right type of paint. Whichever option is used, remember that the paint will fade and it will be necessary to repaint eventually.

Are you struggling to decide what type of material to use on the outside of your home? Talk with a contractor and find out which system will work best for your building and which of the finishes will be most appealing. From there, you can choose a paint and get everything handled.

Tips for Renovations and Hiring Builders

Renovating and building work are commonly mistaken with improvements. The first two involve serious structural changes on your home, while home-improvements might simple mean to re-carpet an area in your residence. Hiring builders for renovations is not a simple task because of the size of the projects, which usually is a quite big one.

This is why the first thing that comes in mind is to choose trusted builders. Finding a random person might lead to several problems - the job done badly, paying more money and even having to do unnecessary repairs. Besides that, it is good to have good understanding with the people on which your home's renovation depends.

Budget-Wise
One of the most common mistakes is that people rush into large renovation projects without carefully planning the budget. The thing is that there should be some money set aside for the additional jobs that often occur. Whether it is for repairs that are uncovered on the way or else - it is always good to know that you can cope with the situation no matter of the unexpected payings.

Is the Work Worth it?
Ask yourself whether the invested money are going to have some effect on your home's resale value. Answering this can be done by consulting a real estate agent. This is certainly a good idea if the renovation project is a big and costly one.

Renovating a New Home
When you have just moved in a new home do not rush into major renovations if they are not necessary. It the building work concerns lack of space or is up to matching your personal tastes - it really is better to wait several months for two reasons. The first is that with the time you might find a better arrangement which will allow you to have the required free space and will save you money. If it concerns personal tastes, it is good to check up with the neighbours - haven't they thought of a better project than yours?

Cleaning Up During Building Work
Building work will bring you the kitchen of your dreams, the conservatory you have wanted or will make your house bigger. But before that there is some cleaning to be faced. If walls have to be torn down, dust will be found everywhere around. Besides this, there are much more issues before even getting to the part with the cleaning - some rooms become inaccessible and others have to cope with the extra use.

In order to not risk the junk to become too much there are some simple steps that will allow you to stay in charge of your home's condition.

  • If many rooms have to be accessed by the builders, make sure to have a particular order in which they will work. Make sure they will keep up to the initial plan in order for you to be able to use the rooms that are not needed yet, plus clean the ones that are already done.
  • Dusty works should be isolated - do not allow the grime to contaminated other rooms.
  • Preparation is essential for furniture, carpets and curtains - everything should be well covered or taken out of the work area. Breakable should be kept safe as well.
  • One bathroom and a toilet better be maintained properly no matter the heavy use they get.
  • Arrange where the rubbish will be put - whether it is going into the skip or else, but you certainly won't like seeing all the rubbish in your garden.

Choosing a Builder
Word of mouth is one of the ways to ensure you make the right decision. Neighbours usually provide a good answer. Contract for bigger jobs is certainly a must as its non-presence might later lead to problems. Liability insurance should be there if something goes wrong.

Notify the Neighbours!
Apologize in advance for the disturbances you might cause by the noise your create or the extra parking space needed for the skip. Arrange such detail in order to be able to focus on the more important part.

The Many Ways Flood Damage Takes From Its Victims

There are certain times of the year when a thunderstorm carries positive connotations -- a cooling downpour with a relaxing rumble in the distance. Unfortunately, some areas of the country will face torrential downpours during storms. As a direct result of the excessive rain, there are mudslides and rockslides. Natural and manmade waterways overflow their banks with all of the excess water. It rains so much and so often that the ground cannot absorb it all fast enough and the sewage system cannot drain it all in time..

What is considered a flood? A flood is considered to have occurred when there is a large amount of water standing in an impermeable structure or area of land. Does it only occur with a natural disaster? A flood can occur on a smaller scale after events such as seasonal flooding or even after a sewage line breaks.

As many homeowners know, when an upstairs washing machine hose malfunctions, a water heater is damaged, or a window is left open, a number of rooms within a home can indeed become drenched -- or even submerged! The room or rooms can usually dry out and the flooring can be replaced with a little effort if the budget allows. But a larger disaster can have life altering, or even life threatening, consequences.

There are many ways to set down the road of recovery but the first step for most is to start grieving what has been lost after a disaster. Beyond the obvious storms that cause disasters, from a tsunami, a failed levee, or a torrential downpour during a hurricane, there also smaller storms through the year that can have terrible side effects.

But one's home is where it is, so what should a family do when this type of disaster does strike? They have to wait for the water to subside. They have to notify insurance if they have it. They have to go through their property if they intend to return home. They have to make a decision about where they will live while they rebuild, if they choose to rebuild. Loss is loss regardless of whether it happens to some extent every year or wipes out a town one good time. It only takes one episode of flood damage to change a person's life forever. It is traumatic and the people involved also have to consider how they will recover mentally and physically if they were home when it happened, apart from physically starting over. They have a tight rope to walk for a little while so that they learn from this incident and not let it affect them for years to come.

Save Your Time - Spray Pond Shield Epoxy, Don't Brush and Roll It On

Well, you must be happy that you have done a great job. You have spent the time, money, frustration and tolerance to create for yourself a beautiful landscaping for your house, which will enhance its value significantly. If you considered spray Pond Shield epoxy as opposed to using rollers and brushes whilst your pond plans were in the design stage, you saved yourself a good amount of time.

It must be noted that before the decision can be made whether to spray or brush and roll epoxy on your pond's interior, you need to be aware that you will need a helper and that you will need a special sprayer. Your universal paint sprayer cannot do the job because the epoxy is way too thick for it to handle. This particular sprayer will be expensive and you need to purchase it only when you think that you will be needing it several times in the future. If you wish to do only one project with this sprayer, then it is advisable to rent it. The experts also advise that your pond will require a minimum of eight quart kits if you were using the traditional brush and roller technique of applying the epoxy. Less area than this would not be cost effective to spray. As the sprayer will use up some epoxy itself, you need to carefully review the manufacturer's instructions on the sprayer to understand just how much epoxy you have to purchase.

Keep in mind the Different Kinds of Sprayers Available for Rent

You must check the psi strength of the sprayer before making a decision to purchase or rent a sprayer. To properly spray the thick Pond Shield epoxy, the sprayer must have a rating of at least 3000 psi. Higher psi is much more effective. Don't let the store manager convince you to take a sprayer with a rating less than 3,000 psi. Likewise you need a spray that has a large tip because it will let you cover more area easily. The hose that you affix to the sprayer should also be large. One half inch diameter hose would be okay to spray epoxy in your pond.

For the job to be done correctly without any troubles, the helper is essential. The helper you select for this job should be familiar with making pond shield epoxy so that you do not run out of epoxy when you are spraying the pond. Pond shield epoxy dries quickly and thus you can not stop before completely spraying the whole pond. Such interrupted action allows the epoxy to dry up in the sprayer which makes it nearly impossible to clean.

Now that you have made all preparations including securing a help partner, buying the right amount of Pond Shield epoxy and the correct kind of sprayer and hose, etc., when all is said and done you will notice that you have saved hours of time building your pond. The savings here are terrific since you will be saving many labor hours spraying the pond instead of brushing or rolling it. If you want to know how much you saved by spraying epoxy, then ask an expert how much he would charge you for brushing or rolling epoxy.

Carbon Monoxide In The Home

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. As such, it is undetectable to the human senses. It is produced by appliances that burn fuel: wood, coal, pellet, kerosene, gas or oil. When appliances are unable to properly vent fumes to the outdoors, carbon monoxide can enter the home. At advanced levels, the occupants may suffer from long-term disability or even death.

Excerpt from the United States Environmental Protection Agency:

"You can't see or smell carbon monoxide, but at high levels it can kill a person in minutes. Carbon monoxide (CO) is produced whenever any fuel such as gas, oil, kerosene, wood, or charcoal is burned. If appliances that burn fuel are maintained and used properly, the amount of CO produced is usually not hazardous. However, if appliances are not working properly or are used incorrectly, dangerous levels of CO can result. Hundreds of people die accidentally every year from CO poisoning caused by malfunctioning or improperly used fuel-burning appliances." Each year, more than 500 Americans die from unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning, according to data collected by the EPA. Many more unknowingly suffer the effects of occasional or continual low-level poisoning. The maximum safe level of carbon monoxide in the home is less that 30 parts per million. Victims of CO poisoning must be removed from exposure as quickly as possible.

From this information, it should be evident that CO gas can be present in the home and that its prevention and detection deserve our highest attention. An abundance of documentation regarding the hazards of this gas has been recorded. It is not difficult to see why CO has often been referred to as the "Silent Killer". The highest number of reported incidents of carbon monoxide poisonings and death in the home occurs in the winter, when homes are closed up more tightly than in other seasons.

Sources of this gas in the home include malfunctioning furnaces, clogged chimneys, water heaters, ovens, corroded flue pipes, gas-fired dryers, stoves and unvented space heaters. Proper maintenance of combustion appliances and their chimneys and flues is essential in preventing CO buildup indoors. By using some readily-available prevention methods, occupants of all types of dwellings should require yearly inspections of their heating appliances. These inspections should include having a qualified technician inspect all fuel-burning appliances, chimneys and vents to make sure they are operating correctly and that there is nothing blocking the fumes from being vented out of the house. In most areas of the country the local utilities will do a free safety inspection of the furnace. Other service technicians might be required for other applications.

Carbon monoxide poisoning can normally be prevented with the installation of an approved alarm. CO detectors can mean the difference between life and death. They have proven be very effective in the detection and prevention of poisoning occurrences from this source. The only safe way to detect this gas in the home is with an operational CO detector. The CO detector monitors the level of this gas in the home and will sound an audible alarm if a hazardous level of the gas is detected. Although similar to smoke detectors, as they are used to detect the presence of a hazardous substance, they are another important tool that should definitely be installed in all residences and should be used in conjunction with smoke alarms.

Most battery-powered CO detectors and detectors that plug into wall outlets can be installed using common household tools, by following the manufacturer's instructions. While stand-alone non-monitored CO detectors are a great addition to the home, more complete protection can be added by the installation of a detector to a monitored home security system. The detection devices are required to be located on each level of the home and within 15 feet of each bedroom in the house, so that the alarm will awaken all sleeping occupants.

Recent California law requires the installation of a CO alarm (or a CO alarm combined with a smoke detector) that emits an alarm and has been tested and certified in accordance with standards developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL).

The requirements are stipulated in The California Health and Safety Code Section 13260-13263, referred to as The Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Act of 2010. This legislation includes reference to the State Fire Marshal as the approval body of record, charged with the approval and listing of these devices.

Many non-governmental organizations exist to aid the tenant or home owner in obtaining a wealth of information on this and many other safety-related subjects. The following are included here to help you make a more informed decision in this matter and are not intended as endorsements:

Consumers Union (publisher of Consumer Reports)
American Gas Association (AGA)
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) (Look for UL certification on any detector that you are considering for purchase.)

The following public agencies are intended to be accessed as free valuable references:

Local and National Building Codes
United States Consumer Product Safety Commission
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Cal-OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety)

It shouldn't be hard to recognize that carbon monoxide is a hazardous substance which can be present in your residence and unknown to you. Prevention measures such as appliance maintenance should always include the installation and maintenance of an approved and operational CO detector.

How to Hire a Concrete Contractor

When hiring a concrete contractor, you may want to hire the most reliable contractor you can find. It saves both of your time, money and effort. In order to hire a reliable contractor, here are 5 basic tips on how to hire one.

Post Your Ad
You can either post your ad that you are looking for a concrete contractor online or on your local newspaper or ad directories. This will let concrete contractors know that you are in need of their service and will give you a wide variety of choices. If you want to hire a local contractor only, then post it in your local directory or indicate on your job posting that you are only accepting applicants in your area.

Contact The Contractors
Once you have posted your job offering, set a specific number of days until when you will be accepting applicants. Once you have enough applicants or the deadline has been reached, you can now go through each application while noting some promising contractors. You can now then contact them either phone call or email and schedule an interview or a visit.

Get Estimates
During the interview or when you visit the office of the contractor, don't forget to ask for an estimate. Most concrete contractors now provide free estimate just to let their client knows how much would the entire project roughly cost. If the contractor is asking even for a small fee before giving you some estimates, it would be best to walk away from them. Estimates should be given to the client without any fees being asked.

Written Contract is a Must
Once you are satisfied with the estimate given by the contractors you want to hire, ask them to make a written contract. The contract should contain all necessary information such as the work involve, the payment, payment method, consequences once the project would not be completed and a lot more. Make sure to read all of the things written in the contract before signing it.

Pay Upon Completion
After the project has been completed, it is now your turn as the client to do your part. You need to check the work done by the concrete contractor and pay accordingly. You do not need to pay until the job has been completed or until you are satisfied with the work that has been done. Some contractors would have no problem fixing the job because it is included in their warranty service.

Is the Dry Air in Your Home Causing Discomfort? Get Relief From a Crane Humidifier

Did you know that a humidifier in your home can help alleviate symptoms of a cold or flu, and relieve dry skin, itchy eyes, bloody noses and cracked lips? A lack of moisture in the air, known as low humidity, results from heating your home during the long winter months, or perhaps if you live in a dry climate. The amount of water vapor in the air depends on the air temperature in your home and water vapor makes up a portion of air. When the air is warmer, the air can hold more water vapor. In order to increase the humidity level back to a comfortable level, moisture needs to be added back into the air. This is the purpose of a humidifier.

Homes with low humidity (dry air) can cause the following:

  • Dry throat
  • Itchy eyes
  • Dry skin and mucous membranes
  • Nose bleeds
  • Chapped lips
  • Increased static electricity
  • Cracks in paint and peeling wallpaper
  • Rooms feeling cooler than the actual temperature.

A humidifier will raise the humidity level by dispersing water vapor back into the air. Thus, the common symptoms that are caused by dry air will be relieved - especially during the flu and cold season.

Consider Chromalox Products for Your Heating and Temperature Control Issues

Heat and temperature control are important aspects of many companies. Chromalox products might be the solution your company needs in order accomplish the day-to-day tasks that need to be done. If you are in the market for a company that supplies equipment like this, then look into this option.

Before hiring a company such as Chromalox to work with your heating and temperature systems, you will need to take some things into consideration. You will need to make sure that they are within your business' budget. You should make sure that they offer good customer service. You should also look into whether or not the company has good warranties on all of the products that you would be purchasing.

When purchasing expensive equipment, it cannot be a snap decision. Chromalox might be in your immediate area, or it might be a company you are considering from a distance. Whatever the case, you should take the time to compare prices, products, and services before making your final decision. A good company will want to give you the best deal, so they might even encourage you to do this, so that you can see that they are your best option.

Look at your company's budget. If you are a small business, then you might need to put off the purchase of any new equipment until you can save enough or choose a company that offers payment plans. If you are a major business, then you should still care about your budget. You need to talk with your accountant or whoever handles your budget to see what is budgeted for replacement equipment. You should take into consideration how the change will help your business and perhaps pay for itself in a short amount of time.

Good customer service is essential when you are looking at making a major purchase. You should be able to talk to an actual person on the phone or in person when taking care of the entire purchase. You might prefer only online interaction, and that is fine too, but all interactions must be thorough, and you should always feel like they believe the customer comes first.

The warranties that a company offers is also an important consideration before you purchase equipment from someplace like Chromalox. You should get a good-sized warranty on an expensive piece of equipment. It shows that the company has faith in the durability and workability of the product.

After looking at all of these areas, you may or may not decide on Chromalox. The goal of most companies is to make a profit, but if you feel like a certain company such as this one will not provide the best deal, talk to them about it before moving on to a different company. You might be surprised to find a company is willing to meet the price of a competing company in order to get your business and your trust.

The Truth About Home Repairs

We strive for larger homes but the fact remains that larger the home, greater the number of home repairs. There are several jobs that will need to be attended to around a house, either big or small. Over the years, there are several phases that you will have to go through as part of your home maintenance routine. This is exactly why a lot of homeowners feel that 'Do It Yourself' or DIY plans are better than calling in a contractor for every job that needs to get done around the house. But stop that thought right there and think again.

A Stitch In Time Saves Nine

When it comes to repairs within your home, this saying is a very apt one. That carpet that needs to be repaired, that leaky tap that needs to be fixed or that hole in the drywall that needs to be patched up should be attended to on a priority basis. It doesn't take too long for the carpet to get worn out or torn further, the leaky tap to turn into a miniature Niagara or the tiny hole in the wall to turn into a gaping one. If the issues are not too glaring it is more feasible for you to wait for a bit and then call in a handyman and have him handle more than just one job in a single visit.

Easy On The Pocket

Most handymen charge for their services by the hour and it becomes more cost-effective for you to bunch up the tasks rather than have them come in for individuals ones. If you decide against calling in for specialized help for these jobs around the house and decide to handle them yourself, chances are that you will put them off for later. Jobs like this have a tendency of piling up and can prove to be a bigger drain if they pile up or the issues get aggravated due to the delay. Apart from this, some issues are too tricky for you to handle all by yourself. In most cases you will find that a handyman can handle certain jobs as skilfully and efficiently as specialized contractors can and the latter charge close to three times the amount that the former will charge you for the same job

When To Choose The Handyman Over The Contractor

The cost-effectiveness factor comes into play here as well since once a handyman is called in, he can also attend to other small issues around the house. However, it is important to understand that jobs such as plumbing and electrical ones are best taken care of by licensed and trained personnel. Some companies provide you with comprehensive services and packages. Check the credibility of the person who will be handling the work and preferably use the services of a reputed home improvement company for all your repair and renovation needs.

The Advantages of Vinyl Windows Are Too Important to Pass Up

A variety of products are on the market but vinyl windows are simply one of the best options available for most residential areas. They are often used as replacements for existing products on homes. Many times, experts state that these products are better than other alternatives, including wood, aluminum, or even fiberglass, all of which were more popular in the past. Today, this is one of the most popular options. Don't select them for that reasons, though. Rather, find out what these products can really offer to users.

Affordability Is the Key

One of the biggest reasons that people purchase vinyl windows is their affordability. Comparing these to other products, it is easy to see that they simply cost less. This is due to their ability to be made very quickly and without a lot of labor involved in the process. Even hard to size or very large openings can be easily covered without a lot of cost in the process. Most homeowners want an affordable option and this is one of the best on the market for that reason.

Excellent Insulation

What makes this product even better is that it also offers one of the best energy efficiency ratings available. Unlike other products, this option has more insulation. For example, when you compare it to aluminum window frames, you will notice that there is more area protected. This helps to prevent any leaking air from escaping. It keeps the heat in during the winter months and keeps it out during the summer months. As a result, it is easier to heat and cool your home. The window design uses a specific type of plastic known as polyvinyl chloride. This product, which is more commonly known as PVC, has a high R-value.

It Is Attractive

Even with these factors, you may be thinking that the vinyl windows must be ugly or they may be too hard to install. That is not the case either. In fact, these are very easy to maintain and are attractive. They can be customized to fit any need or created in such a way as to stand out from the rest. Some have a matte finish. Others have a faux wood grain on them. This helps to give the homeowner a variety of options to consider. Maintaining them takes no more than wiping them down.

For those who are considering replacements, vinyl windows are simply one of the best products on the market. You will find that they are ideal for those who do not want to have to scrub or paint them. They are ideal for those on a budget, too.

We're Sorry Your Home Office Is Boring

Home offices are, typically, on the boring side. You might have an entire room that serves as your office, or perhaps just a section of the family room or bedroom. You probably have a simple desk, office chair, computer, printer, small desk lamp, and maybe even a dying, potted plant sitting in the corner.

There might be some personal touches strewn about such as family pictures on the desk or maybe a motivational poster thrown up on the wall. I mean, who wouldn't be motivated by the "Hang in there, baby!" poster featuring a kitten clinging onto a piece of rope?

Did we just describe your home office? If so, we are sorry to inform you that it's boring. If you were giving a tour of your house to a guest, we would suggest skipping over the office entirely. But, seriously, aren't all home offices yawn-producers? Not quite.

We've tracked down some creative home offices that will hopefully get you thinking of ways to spruce up your own home office.

Apple of His Eye

David Wu, an entrepreneur and product designer in Hong Kong, has taken his love for Apple and its stores to the extreme. His home office is actually a smaller version of an Apple store. Wu paid attention to every detail. From the Fetzer Maple Wood Desks that are normally found in Apple stores to even the shelves he had installed that are now lined with various Apple products, Wu captured the exact look and feel of an Apple store. The only thing missing is wandering Apple employees asking, "What brings you to Mr. Wu's office today?"

Take It Outside

Who says you have to have an office inside your home? Your perfect office setting might just be your backyard. The HGTV show "Take It Outside" featured an episode with freelance journalist Susie Wall. Wall already had an indoor office, but she felt she could benefit from a little fresh air every and then. Designer Kelly Deck drew inspiration from Wall's indoor office and settled upon an Asian-inspired design to create a serene, peaceful atmosphere (notice the bubbling Buddha water fountain). Oh, and those boards hanging in front of the desk? They're magnetic so papers won't go flying if there's a strong breeze. To learn more about this design, visit the HGTV website.

Hail to the Chief

There is absolutely nothing wrong with lifting home office design ideas from someone else's office. In fact, we hope that you may have been inspired by some of these other offices we have listed. Sure, obviously not everyone can create a home office in their backyards or take their love of Apple products to an insane level, but hopefully you saw something that triggered an "Aha!" moment for you. However, there are some people who have literally duplicated exactly what they've seen in their own homes. One of these people is Texan Ron Wade. Well, maybe you should call him President Ron Wade, if you ever visit his home. You see, his home office is a mini replica of the Oval Office in the White House.

It took Wade almost three and a half years to recreate the most famous office in the world. He employed 250 workers and spent $250,000 in his quest for his own personal Oval Office. He also happens to own plenty of presidential memorabilia, including over 300,000 presidential buttons and he even drives the car that President John F. Kennedy used during his final months in office. His reasoning behind wanting his own Oval Office? He was bored and was looking for something to do. You can learn more about Ron Wade's story HERE.

New Cabinets on the Cheap

From time to time, it is important go update our homes. One of the best ways to give your home a more modern look and to bring up the value of your home in case you decide to put it on the selling market is to remodel the kitchen cabinets. There are several ways that you can make them look better. These include a complete remodel, refinishing, and refacing. If a complete remodel does not fit into your budget, your best option may be to have them refaced.

The first thing that will be done is cleaning. Because foods, grease, dust, and moisture does build up after a while, thorough cleaning needs to be done before the refinishing process can officially begin. This step is usually done with a rag and a special cleaner while they are still attached to the frame. Usually they will be taken off before the tougher spots are cleaned. You will also need to remove the handles and hardware. It is during this process that you need to remove and label them so that they can be put back exactly where they belong.

Once the cabinets have been removed, the stripping process can begin. Before you strip them, however, you need to find out what kind of material they are coated with so that you know what product to use, because only certain types of products can be used on certain materials or your cabinets can be ruined. Once they are completely dry, any holes and scratches will be patched, then sanded until completely smooth.

Once they are clean, smooth, and dry, the refacing process can begin. Before you do this, you need to choose whether you want them varnished or painted. If you choose to have them painted, they will be primed first. Along with painting and varnishing, you may want to put on new handles and hardware to complete the new look. To make sure that they coordinate with your kitchen style and new finish, you may want to consider taking one of your newly refinished cabinets to the hardware store so that they can be matched up.

When you have chosen to refinish your cabinets, you can have a new look in your kitchen without spending too much on your remodel. You will once again enjoy hosting family meals for years to come or may be able to get more money out of your home when it comes time to sell it.

Top Four Reasons Why You Should Get Gas Fire Pit Kits For Your Home

You've always wanted a fireplace for your home. To read a book by the fire, to gather round with the family on cold nights, and to sit with your dog just being mesmerized by the blazing flame are all ideal sceneries that inspire you to install a fireplace. But you can't seem to do it. One obstacle might be that it could get expensive to have one built in your home. The other obstacles would be the hassles of getting a permit for a wood burning fireplace and installing a direct vent unit (because you haven't got a chimney).

There has to be a better way to get that roaring fire going in your property. There is actually a much better, more affordable way. Just start shopping for propane fire place kits. And here are four reasons why you should choose a fire pit over fireplace installation.

Gas fire pits come in seemingly endless options in terms of style, size, and even shape. You can get an 8" fire pit stand that uses natural gas or liquid propane. You can get a hearth made from composite cement and molded into a detailed, true-aged wood with iridescent fireglass. You can even get a tripod style hearth made of weatherproof aluminum and glass top cover. Round, square, rectangular, dome-like, tall, short, modern, rustic - you have a world of choices on gas fire bowls to match the overall décor of your outdoor space.

With a gas fire bowl kit, you get all the essential components needed to construct your own fire place. The kit will include the frame, which can come in the shape that you want and will usually be made of stainless steel. The kit will also come with the burner, pine logs or glass, and hoses with the shut off valves. For families that go camping regularly and love putting things together, it's highly likely they will know how to build a fire bowl. If you don't want to build the fire place yourself, you may also hire a contractor who can do the job safely.

Gas fire bowls are ideal backyard additions for any occasion. You can invite friends and family to have an afternoon barbecue that lasts well into the evening. You may also hold outdoor dinners with business associates. Even better, you can arrange a special "night out" with your spouse in your very own backyard and have wine and cheese as you snuggle right by the lava rock burning fire pit kit.

Finally, whether you're shopping for natural or propane gas fire bowls, the outdoor essential element adds a unique ambience to your backyard. It doesn't matter if the space you have is just a small one or an expansive one. What matters is that the addition of a gas hearth can make your social gatherings warmer, cozier - better.
